Yes, I know that it has been a while since my last post. I needed to take a respite and wasn’t sure exactly when I would be able to start posting again. I didn’t want to make anymore promises that I may not be able to keep. I had begun to have trouble sleeping again. This was a result of having entirely too much stress from having too much on my plate. Between my son’s football practice, my husbands’ days off of his second job, trying to get our house ready to sell, trying to get my mom’s house ready to sell, the baby, date night, taking my daughter to lunch, laundry, vacuuming, grocery shopping, my exercise regimen, getting ready everyday and my blog something had to give and the something that had to give was my blog. No worries. I am still working on losing the weight. I knew that if I didn’t ease the stress then my metabolism would slow down and I would start to have trouble losing the weight. Remember that the primary goal for this personal challenge was for me to lose 40 pounds by the time I turn 40 years of age. I will do what it takes to achieve that goal.
If you scroll through My Daily Food Accountability you will find that I had good days and bad days. There are quite a few meals where I couldn’t find nutritional information for the restaurant, the food, or the way I ordered my food. I try to make changes to the meal to make them healthier when I can. One thing that I definitely learned through My Daily Food Accountability is that it is not good enough to do well for two meals and then blow the third. I have got to be more careful of the selections that I am making. We are still eating out way too much. It may not be quite so bad if we weren’t always trying to cut time and money by eating fast food. I know that eating at home is a much better choice. Hopefully, now that my son’s football season is coming to an end we can eat at home more.
I am happy to report my progress in my weight loss goal. As of Sunday October 18, 2009 I weigh 162.6 pounds. That is a total of 7.4 pounds lost so far. I have reached my 2 month goal with nearly two weeks left to go in October, the second month of my challenge. I am on track and ahead of schedule. I am not going to let up. At some point I will most likely plateau and have difficulty losing for a time. I need to be as far ahead of schedule as I can for these points in my weight loss. At ten pounds, I get to go shopping for a few new clothing items. This shopping trip will not only be a reward, it will also be necessary since most of my clothes are really starting to be way to big on me. I am really getting excited about losing even more weight now with the improvements that I am seeing in my body.
As far as exercise is concerned, I have been running everyday without fail for the last month. For the last couple of weeks, I have ramped up my running to 25 minutes. The switch from the 20 minute program to the 25 minute program seemed like little change in difficulty. This week I want to try running twice a day on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday and see how this affects my weight loss.
So I am back to my blog and on track for success in my challenge. Thanks for continuing to follow my blog and support me in my goal to lose 40 pounds by the time I turn 40.
